Recent pics of the kiddos!

Miss Nora is growing and changing.

Emma is modeling her ears from Disney World.

Sadie certainly enjoyed her sherbet at the Childrens' Museum.

Is this Carter, the Transformer?

...more Spring visitors!

Just recently we have seen this pair of mallard ducks in our back yard. One evening they were perched on the top of the roof.  Small ponds in the area are home to these ducks.
We've heard it is common to see these pairs during nesting season.  Our visitors stop by to eat the seed that birds have spilled out of feeders.  It's amusing to watch them out the back windows.  Soon the mallards will be swimming in the pond followed by their duckling family.

Spring Visitors

As promised, I  want to update this blog in a more timely fashion.  After returning from spring training, we had a visit from Sadie and Carter .  They were enjoying their spring break from school.
This is the first time they have been with us at Easter so they each enjoyed a basket/bucket full of Easter treats.
Weather was sunny and warm and Papa's new yard was lush and green, just right for an egg hunt.
What fun they had looking for the colored eggs and also some special golden eggs.
The best part of the hunt is counting exactly how many eggs you found.  I think it was a tie :)

Back to bloggin...

Didn't mean to ignore this blog.  I get distracted by other things and forget that this was my first adventure into social media.  If the pictures look familiar it is because this is our third trip to Roger Dean Stadium for the St. Louis Cardinals' spring training.
No one is more excited to hit the stadium that Papa John.  We chose to go the last week this year thinking that we might see some more serious practice games and we did.  We also sat through some pretty hot sunny afternoons in Jupiter.
Being the World Series Champions in 2011 was evident by the shirts worn by the fans and the enthusiasm for the new season.  Albert who?????

Chitown Futbol

When we visit Chicago during the school year we are able to see Carter at his Saturday soccer league at Chitown Futbol.  This is an amazing facility with great instructors and Carter enjoys his time there.  Sadie is now old enough to participate.

Sadie was happy to pose for Papa.  The weather was chilly so she picked her pink velour pants to go with her soccer uniform.  Makes a fashion statement, doesn't it?

We were so pleased to see how intently Sadie listened to her coach.  Not many of her 3 year old team mates were as attentive.  Sadie was always right on spot for what the instructor said.
We will be anxious to return and see Carter and Sadie's progress.  Thanks for letting us be a part of your Saturday classes.

Carter's 7th Birthday

Are you surprised that Carter wanted Legos for his birthday? The boy l.o.v.e.s. his Legos and is quite adept at constructing the sets. Sadie even got in the swing of things.
You can already see the wheels turning.....how long will it take me to make this?

Carter woke up the next day at 5 AM and went quietly into the closet in his parents' bedroom, turned on the light, and worked on his new set!

Big or little, each set offers its own challenges.

See that smile...patiently, piece by piece the project comes together. Can you bend your knee back like that? Thank you for letting us share your birthday. Carter, our Number One grandson. We Love You!!

CHRISTMAS 2011

This ornament tells the story for the holidays, Christmas 2011, in our new Plainfield home.

Evidently Carter and Sadie are happy to have new books to open and read.

Nora loved her new 'paci' and seemed to like her new outfit.

Emma had already gotten some Tag reader books and was quite relieved that she also got the reader pen to make them work.

We finally gathered all four little ones to take a Christmas Day photo with Great Grandma Imogene. L-R Emma, 4 yrs., Nora 16 mos., GG Imy 90 yrs., Carter, almost 7 yrs., and Sadie, 3 yrs. old

Not a white Christmas but a photo of our backyard a few days later.
